Our Story

At CommunityPhysicians.care , we are more than a staffing firm—we are a community of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of people in rural America.

Our mission is simple: to connect skilled physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare professionals with hospitals and clinics in rural areas, where their impact can be profound and immediate.

We proudly support Critical Access Hospitals and Community Hospitals, providing them with the best talent in the field. This commitment ensures patients in small towns and rural communities have access to high-quality care when and where they need it.

Our Commitment

Our Commitment

Bringing Healthcare Excellence to America’s Heartland

CommunityPhysicians.care is built on the belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of where they live. Our focus is on rural and smaller communities where healthcare providers are often stretched thin.

By partnering with Critical Access and Community Hospitals, we are making a real difference in communities that need it most.

We understand the challenges of rural healthcare and provide our hospitals with skilled, compassionate professionals who are committed to the mission. Our providers are more than just clinicians—they are partners in community wellness, leaders in healthcare, and advocates for their patients.

Working in rural healthcare is more than just a career choice—it’s an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives and be part of a community. Rural hospitals often serve as the only healthcare access point in their areas, making each provider a cornerstone of the community.

It’s challenging, rewarding work where providers build lasting relationships and can truly see the impact of their care on their patients’ lives.

Troy Kastrup
Executive Director

For two decades, Troy has dedicated his career to healthcare staffing, primarily leading firms that serve Community Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals.

As CEO, his firm consistently earned the Best of Staffing award for both Talent and Client satisfaction, reflecting a commitment to quality.

Troy has served on the ethics committee for the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations (NALTO) and has been a panelist at the Staffing Industry Analysts Healthcare Summit discussing topics related to Locum Tenens. He also speaks at events supporting healthcare work.

Troy and his wife Karla reside in Milbank, SD. He’s a graduate of the University of South Dakota. Interestingly, Troy is the only member of his family without an NPI number. His wife and oldest daughter are Speech Language Pathologists, middle daughter is the only female dentist in her rural county, and his youngest daughter is a Nurse Practitioner.

Serving the needs of rural communities is truly a family affair.
